Slowing Down

Pandora on the Peaceful Holidays station. A nap with my littlest one tucked into the crook of my arm – and staying there. I stared at him for what felt like forever. Construction paper chains for the tree. Christmas Magic candle burning. Many loads of laundry washed, folded and put away(for once.) Turkey veggie soup and crusty bread for dinner. The Grinch on tv and a sweet girl snuggled under a quilt, staying up late to watch for the first time.

It’s times like that I could just hold onto forever. Sullivan fell asleep in my arms the other night. It’s been months since he just went limp in my arms, not trying to wiggle his way out. It was heaven. I rocked him in the dark and didn’t want to put him down, not knowing when I’ll feel that again.
Sounds heavenly.
