The First Tomatoes

Tiny little Tess’s Land Race Currant tomatoes! She’s a wild one, that plant – if you ever get one, give it tooooooooons of room. It’s an indeterminate tomato variety which means it grows like a vine and this girl is trying to take over everyone around her. I keep hacking off her branches just to keep paths clear and she doesn’t care – she just keeps barreling through. I kind of like her for it:)

Last year our tomatoes were awful. Some combo of rain and a new location and bottom rot on almost all of the plants that we just couldn’t seem to remedy. This year they have a whole new spot and they’re growing and growing, 13 plants total and so far all actually doing well this year!
