From the Weekend

Do you ever have those times where you try to think back on your recent life and know you stuffed a ton of stuff into your days but can’t remember any of it? That’s where we are right now. Seriously, what did we do this summer?? I don’t even know. And I surely have NO clue where the heck September went. And I’ve been a terrible friend – I haven’t seen anyone in the shuffle of getting used to 14 drop-off and pick-ups at schools every week.
The weekend felt the same. Cooking and relaxing (so thankful for that,) book reading, a quick dinner date, a BBQ with friends, kid room picking up and hanging more alphabet cards again – but I had to think way too hard to just remember all of that to list it. I tried to make apple cider doughnuts – not my best idea ever. The good news is that it’s made me never want to eat another doughnut. I must have fried something at some point in my life, but it was really the first (and likely last) time I’ve ever attempted deep frying. Next time I’ll just baked them and not care that they’re really just glorified cupcakes or muffins in a different shape. Never fear, though, the doughnuts were a failure but I made some AMAZING muffins that I’m going to share this week!
How was your weeken??

I just want to come and live here…
AAAAAUGH..I was JUST tonight thinking about how I’m so sad that I’ll probably forget so much of these (yes, I’ll use the word) PRECIOUS years with my babies. In the moment I think I’ll remember EVERY minute of the day, but like you, I can barely remember what we did in August and have no. clue. how we are already at the tail of September.

You’ll have this wonderful blog to help you remember, though, right?
And those doughnuts actually look delicious!
