Labor Day Weekend Love
Weekending. Even with lots of time at work, it’s still fantastic.
::A morning trip to market to find some lovely things. Where we forgot what we even intended to buy and spent the morning driving around exploring more and more – we hit 3 farmer’s markets total, just for fun.
::A precious extra day with Daddy at home. Breakfast treks a bit far to a special place from days long gone – days before wedding and kids and days that let us drive aimlessly on a Sunday and find fantastic little diners. Making the drive with two in the back and asking for a booster seat seemed so different, but so right.
::A tomato that weighed in at over a pound and a half. The only one on the whole plant – I think it put all of the energy into this one tomato. We ate it sliced and stacked with mozzarella next to burgers for a perfect Labor Day dinner.
::And a yard sale find that made me grin from ear to ear – because we needed another play kitchen around here. It came home with promises from me to get rid of one of our other two play kitchens, so one is going to the grandparents. It also came with a box of the most delightful old play kitchen toys – aluminum pots and pans and tea cups from the 60s or 70s along with the tiniest play food containers ever.
::Good weekend. Very, very good weekend.::
Holycrap L. These photos are amazing!!
Coming over from Southern Hospitality…I had that kitchen!! I do believe that it is still in my parents’ attic! Thanks for the smile.
