Holiday Weekending

December 20, 2010

::Lessons learned from a 3-year-old while watching Elf:

Mia: Mommy, look! Buddy puts syrup on his spaghetti!

Me: Oh gross!! He’s so silly!

Mia: But, mama, it’s not gross. That’s just how he likes it, it’s just the way God made him. That’s ok.

::We ended last week with a preschool Christmas Party – so much sweetness.

::The littlest one thinks he’s hilarious walking around with a constant stream of “Ha ho ho ho” followed by giggles as he cracks himself up all day long.

::The loveliest, loveliest  package from my Holiday Traditions Exchange partner – including the sweetest ornaments , a new favorite book, yummy recipes I can’t wait to try.

::A first visit to The Nutcracker for the cousins.

::Breakfast with Santa.

::Secret gift making at my parents’ to use my mom’s sewing machine and photos of all of the pretties around their house.

::Gift picking and wrapping for Daddy – followed by, “Daddy, I can’t tell you about the hat I got you for Christmas. It’s a secret present.”

::More homemade peppermint marshmallows for gifts.

::Much-needed playing outside.

::And the final getting rid of the crib – in too sad, nailed together, recalled shape to worry with giving it to anyone. Putting it out in the trash made me teary more than once.

Happy, Happy Holidays everyone! Just in case I don’t make it back before the weekend – here’s wishing you and yours the loveliest, peaceful time of joy with friends and family.

    I had to look very closely to make sure I was truly seeing THE CRIB next to the trash. Gasp. That must’ve been more than hard. Truly~sorry and a big hug for you. On a brighter note, I love the color you painted your kitchen. Christmas looks very fun at your house. 🙂

      I made two different batches and on one batch I used Martha Stewart’s recipe and on the other I used Alton Brown’s recipe. Both turned out to be fantastic!

Leave some love! (It always makes my day:)
