Cooking on a Snowy Day

February 1, 2011

I’ve been wanting to make more granola since a majorly failed attempt at homemade granola bars a couple of months ago resulted in granola instead.

So I armed myself with two trusty helpers to dump and mix with me and what resulted was the easiest, yummiest granola I’ve eaten in quite some time. I even remembered to write it all down just in case it was really good and I’m so glad that I did. I modified recipes from the little red house(the inspiration this morning!), SouleMama and Cookus Interruptus.

Granola:

3 cups Oats

1/4 cup Ground Flax Seed

1/4 cup Wheat Germ

1/4 cup Whole Wheat Flour

1/3 cup Sunflower Seeds

1/4 cup Maple Syrup

1/4 cup Honey

1/4 cup Olive Oil

1 teaspoon Vanilla

1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon

Mix all together well in a large bowl, then spread on a baking sheet and bake at 275 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

Ooo Love this! We make big batches of granola about twice a month, so fun to do with kids!
