Breathe

November 28, 2012

It’s finally quiet.  I’m sitting with my hand around a cup of tea, listening to my favorite Peaceful Holidays station on Pandora (found by Katie a few years ago.)  Editing personal photos and feeling sort of/almost/enough caught up on work for the moment.  Thanksgiving was fine and re-confirmed my not-so-positive thoughts that the actual day of a holiday is my least favorite part of the holidays.  I love the anticipation the most, the actual days rarely live up to the hype.  So there’s my Suzy Sunshine moment for the week for you – you’re welcome;)

It snowed for the first time this morning and it kind of caught us by surprise, in a good way. Yesterday I heard whispers of a dusting this morning, but didn’t pay attention.  So it made our whole entire morning to have a snowy day.  I had the morning to get stuff done while the kids were both at school and I sat at the dining room table and plugged away on the computer looking up every other second to watch the snowflakes fall.

The best part of the day?  The half-walk we took around the corner and down and back our favorite alley.  It’s our favorite little spot for a quick 20 minutes outside where we walk at a snails pace and investigate every random thing we (they) find.

I think days like this are a definition of simplicity, no?

I very much hope so! If I could say that more days than not in my life were spent like this, I’d be so happy!

Leave some love! (It always makes my day:)
