About

Welcome!  My name is Lillian and I’m still not entirely sure that I could tell you a concise reason that I started this blog. It changes daily, but includes a whole lot of random most usually related to my kids, stumbling through decorating and renovating our house and learning about gardening, food and photography.

I  try to take pictures of the pretty things around me and leave out the messes most of the time for your sake – not to portray any sort of idealistic life I’m not living, but to save you from the chaos.

I LOVE:

My husband, my favorite guy in the world, John:

Our two little ones , Mia is 5 and Nick is 3:

I also love:

Potatoes

Photography

Gardening

A good deal

Vintage finds

Our local Salvation Army

Old houses with tons of character

Diet Pepsi

The times of the year between seasons when the weather is mild

Anything in the perfect shade of pale aqua

Dave Matthews Band

Toast with jam

Salt

Any food that might be described as rustic

Flowers

The sound of rain falling

Blogs

Pretty lipstick

Good hair days

A hot cup of tea with milk and honey

Lists for anything and everything

Taking a really long time on a project

Being outside

The quiet during a snowstorm

It was fun to tiptoe around your blog after finding you on freshly pressed (congrads by the way!). My reasons for starting a blog are random and shifting but anchored by my children and the crazy fun in life. I look forward to checking back with you from time to time.

I love your blog for its elaborate simplicity and honesty and how it revolves around your family. It’s like a sip of warm peppermint hot cocoa that warms me up inside. You have such a wonderful family.

So glad to be following you.🙂

Time to update this. Your photos show that the kids are much older now!😉 I just realized from one of these comments, that you and I got Freshly Pressed the same week. I was Aug. 5, 2011. Coolio! I found you all on my own, and have been a fan ever since.
